Showcase Sunday (#1)

Hey everyone! As I'm sure all of you know, there was that big MESS of things that went on with Kristi over at TheStorySiren, and so as a personal choice, I have decided not to partake in the IMM she hosts. So, I've decided to try out a new meme hosted over at Books, Biscuits and Tea. I may try other mailbox type memes or I may just stick with this one. We'll see how it goes :)

This week was a slow week for me. I only got two books because there are a few books I want to get, for sure, next month and so I'm saving up!

I've heard some good and bad things about this one. I though I'd give it a try considering it was paperback and this in the 10 dollar range. If it were hard backed I probably wouldn't have gotten it. Any who, they didn't have Social Suicide, so this one had to do.

and . . .

The only reason why I ended up buying this one was because the Chapters I was at had it for... wait for it... 2 FREAKING DOLLARS! And because I have a 10% discount card, I only spent $1.89. Yeah, I can't say I've only ever spent less than 2 bucks at the book store. (I actually have the first and second one in this series, so it kind of worked out. Now all I need to do is get the third one and I'm set)

What did you get this week? Showcase them off and I'll come take a look.

Follow me Friday (#9)

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are excited for the weekend! Now that my boyfriend has his Internet back I'm able to bring my laptop to his house and produce posts to post on the blog. Yay! Anyways, it's Friday, and as always the feature and follow Friday is hosted by both Alison Can Read and Parajunkee so be sure to check them out!

Today's question is...

Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then "broke up" with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her.

A: I have to kind of think about this one. Authors for me, anyways, are pretty good at building characters that continue to grow; in a good way. If I had to choose someone, I think I'd go with Lila from Holy Black's The Curse Workers series: White Cat, Red Glove, Black Heart. I know there isn't too much character development for her, but I did start to like her at first. After all, she was a cat for how many years? So I felt bad for her. Did I "love" her in a way I generally fall for those awesome male characters, no. Though, towards the end of the series, my sympathy for her was lost, and so I just ended up hating her completely. What did Cassel ever really see in her? Jeesh, men. They make no sense.

How about you guys? Leave me a link to your post and I'll come check it out! Also, if you're a new follower let me know so I can return the favor!! ^.^

Happy Friday.

Book Organizaing 101

Hello everyone! How's your week been? Mines been fast, and considering there is a P.A Day tomorrow, short!

Today is just one of those days. You know, the type of day where you wake up and have the urge to organize! So that got me thinking, maybe I'll share with you guys some of the techniques and tips I use when organizing my books. I'm sure other blogs have done something like this, though I can't name any, however I figured I'd do my own spin on it. Now, this isn't necessarily the right way, but it works for me.

Today, since I organized all my to-read books, I thought I'd share with you guys how I keep track of all my to-reads that I own. It's time consuming, but awarding in the end!

I think a lot of you know of this way, or heard of it, but it actually really does help. What I do is go through my book shelves. I write down every book I've yet to read. Yes, this takes a while, especially if you have as many books as I do. You write the book title + the authors last name: Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.
Continue to do this until you've got all the books to-read on your list. It took me about 3 and half pages worth, so be sure to do this on a day you have time!

Next, create a blank page on Word or Microsoft or any other writing program you like. Title it Own To-Read so you know what the document is. Next, write the alphabet from top to bottom, like this:

A

B

C

D

...

Now, this is the time consuming part. Under each letter, write a corresponding book title and author name. I did this alphabetically by authors last name, but you could also do it by book title.

When you're done, count all the books you've listed.

Note: I have books on my shelf that I haven't read but did not include on my list. If I'm more than positive that I will never get to that book (because I have way to many to get through), I don't add it, but I do keep it on my shelf.

At the top of the document write the total number of books. Now, every time you buy a new book, all you have to do is open the document and write the book title and author. Also, when ever you finish a book, all you have to do is erase it and change the book total. How easy, right? I like this way because as you continue to erase books, and see that number decrease, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. It's a great way to keep track of all your book.

*This is also great if you don't know what to read. Go to random.org and type in the total amount of books in your list as the maximum. Keep the minimum 1. All you have to do is press GENERATE and it will choose a number for you. This number will represent the book in your list that comes at that place. For example, random.org generated the number 33. All I'd have to do is count down from the top of my list until I get to book 33. Ta-Da! That will be the book I read next.

I hope you guys found this helpful, and encourages you to give it a try. You never know, it might turn out to be a great system for you!

I plan on doing Book Organizing 101 from time to time. But I need your help. I'm not one to plagiarize. If you know of another blog that is doing something similar and has named it "Book Organizing 101" please let me know! Give me their link so I can double check and change my title! As for the content, this is something I thought of doing as I do something similar for my crafting supplies. I don't take full credit as I'm sure other blogger's or readers have thought of this too!

Review: Need

Title: Need
Author: Carrie Jones
Pages: 306
Format: Hardcovered
Published: December 23rd 2008
Publisher: Bloomsbury

So I've had this one sitting on my book shelf since 2009. That was a long time ago. But I figured it was about time I read it. I must admit, I have mixed feelings about this one.

Need was truly a unique and original book. I've never read a book that was pixie based, so the concept was quite new to me. Although I've known about pixies, my favorite cartoon character being Tinker Bell, I had some vague knowledge on them. However, Need takes your green- squeaky-talking-pixie, and adds fangs and tallness to them. Warning, the pixies contained in this novel are not friendly. They'll eat you if you're male.

The beginning was slow and dull. The main character, Zara, is all depressed and gloomy. I get it, she just lost her step dad, but still. Perhaps Carrie, this wasn't a very good starting point? Hm? Who wants to dive into a book that begins all depressing? I sure as hell don't and actually almost gave up on it. But I stuck with it, so you should too.

The book finally takes off and you're sucked into the world of pixies! Ohhh, scary *heh heh heh*

Seriously, I would have given this book such a bad review and rating due to the extremely dull beginning, but I rather enjoyed the pixie aspect of it. Although the book doesn't get too much into pixie things, this book does touch on it and makes you want to continue the series to learn more about their culture. However, I find that there were more wolves than pixies. So if you think this is strictly a pixie book, you're wrong! Their are wolves and bears and eagles, so expect more than what the synopsis lets on.

The characters were alright, I suppose. Zara wasn't completely likable to me at the beginning. She's all depressed, gloomy, comparing everything to death. And she has a weird phobia fetish... weirdo! But eventually I did start to like her. I've read reviews of the later novels to this series and everyone claims that you really see her grow as a character. One can only hope. As for the other characters? There are her friends who are awesome and funny. Her grandma is no exception and you'll just love her. And than there is Nick. Of course he's the love interest in this book. I think everyone when reading this is all for Nick. I know I am. But I cheated and read somewhere *looks away* that Zara starts falling for someone else. Is this going to effect the second book for me? Definitely, but I'll live.

As for everything else, I really enjoyed where it took place. Okay, so I live in Canada where winters can get pretty bad. For the last few years our winters have completely suck, and in all honestly, I miss the snow. Not the gross, grey, slushy stuff. The white, fun, fluffy kind. So I think one day I just might move to Main, which is where the story takes place. It's really cold there and snowy. I like snowy ^.^

The writing was alright as well. Nothing special, maybe just average. The story went by rather fast, but I did feel some parts went by WAY too fast. Seriously, she was kidnapped and rescued in a matter of like 3 pages. What's that? C'mone, you gotta do better than that Carrie!

So the verdict? I'm currently reading the second book, Captivate. So that should slightly speak for itself. This series is definitely worth a look at.

3.5 ounces of pixie dust :)

Waiting on Wednesday (WoW) #5

Hey there! It's hump day as well as waiting on Wednesday! This, like always, is hosted by Breaking the Spine

It's been a good week for me this week. I just finished Need by Carrie Jones last night, so expect a review for that earlier today, and now I've started Captivate. I'm in such a reading mood this week :) BTW, in case you were wondering, there was no IMM like I usually do on Sunday because, well, I had no books! But I did get something this week, so stay tuned for that! Anyways, onto what I've been waiting on...

Drum Roll Please...

Gah, is that cover not gorgeous or what? I just came across this one the other day, actually. My blood is boiling with the need to read this one. Alas, it doesn't come out until October. Yes, I said OC-FREAKING-TOBER! That is way to long for a book with an amazing cover and mind blowing synopsis:

Sixteen-year-old Evening Spiker lives an affluent life in San Francisco with her mother, EmmaRose, a successful geneticist and owner of Spiker Biotech. Sure, Evening misses her father who died mysteriously, but she’s never really questioned it. Much like how she’s never stopped to think how off it is that she’s never been sick. That is, until she’s struck by a car and is exposed to extensive injuries. Injuries that seem to be healing faster than physically possible.

While recuperating in Spiker Biotech’s lush facilities, she meets Solo Plissken, a very attractive, if off-putting boy her age who spent his life at Spiker Biotech. Like Evening, he’s never questioned anything... until now. Solo drops hints to Evening that something isn’t right, and Emma-Rose may be behind it. Evening puts this out of her mind and begins her summer internship project: To simulate the creation of the perfect boy. With the help of Solo, Evening uncovers secrets so big they could change the world completely.
Now, doesn't that just sound spanking amazing!! Be sure to add it to your goodreads to-read list. I have a feeling it won't be a let down (I hope). Goodreads Page

So, what are you waiting on this fine hump day (hehehe)? Leave me a link to your post below and I'll check it out!

Review: The Calling

Title: The Calling
Author: Kelley Armstrong
Pages: 325
Format: Hardback
Published: April 10th 2012
Publisher: Harper Collins

Wow, what a thrill ride this book was. If you thought The Gathering was intense or any of the Darkest Powers Trilogy, then your in for a real treat. The Calling was jammed pack with thrill and excitement. Readers will not be let down! And, you'll never want to turn your eyes away!

Kelley Armstrong is one of those authors who is good at what they do. Just like surgeons and doctors are good at say, performing surgery, Kelley is fan-freaking-tastic at performing and creating brilliant stories that never let you down. Kelley is one of my all time favourite authors, and will always be if she continues to produce work as good as these books.

To start, The Calling begins right where we left off. And I mean right where we left off. They're all on a helicopter, moving to safety. Or so they thought. Soon the helicopter crashes, and the six of them are left stranded on an island, dodging tranquilizers and fighting their way home.

Like the Darkest Powers Trilogy, this book was fast paced. The first book was a little slow, and didn't pick up until later on in the story when Maya discovers what she is, a skin-walker. In this one, everyone is beginning to find out what they are and what the people after them want. Much like the characters in the Darkest Powers Trilogy, they're running away and trying to find help, and ultimately, trying to stay alive! If you read the other series by Kelley and enjoyed the thrill and suspense from it, you'll surely enjoy this story too.

It was obvious when I read Kelley's other series that she was a brilliant writer, so of course this series has been written beautifully. However, not only is the plot exhilarating, but the characters are quite exceptional! Talk about a bad-ass proteganist that will totally chew your head off if she felt compelled to! Each character has their own distinct personality. Kelley shows this through her well-written dialogue. Corey is funny. Sam is kind of a bitch. Daniel is caring. And Maya, she's totally bad-ass and strong minded. Rafe, well, to my disappointment he wasn't in this one all that much.

I guess the big question really, is: What team am I on? Daniel or Rafe?

Hell, its Rafe but of course. Sure, Daniel is totally caring and sweet, but I just can't help but swoon over Rafe. It was disappointing to discover that he wasn't really in this one. Just a warning for all you Rafe fan girls.

So overall, Kelley will not disappoint. It's thrilling, fast paced, well written, and has memorable characters. Definitely one of my favourite this year. Now I've got to wait an agonizing one year to read the final installment. *Le sigh* But there is a grain of hope that us fans of The Darkest Powers Trilogy will once again be reunited with its memorable characters! Oh Kelley, please let this not be a tease. Please let it be a very real possibility!

My Rating:
5 fan-freaking-stars, but of course.

Angela

**Cover: Totally gorgeous. I love all the covers for both this series and the author. They're so pretty :)

Waiting on Wednesday (WoW) #4

Hey you pigs! Happy Hump Day! I hope your week has been a good one. I haven't done a WOW in a while so I thought I'd start getting into a routine that included a few memes being featured every week. As always, this is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking The Spine.

This week I'm waiting on...

Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake. It doesn't come out until August 7th *Sob* so its been really hard waiting for it. After Anna Dressed in Blood being a one day type book (yeah, I couldn't put it down), and this cover being absolutely gorgeous, the agony of waiting is killing me! I can't wait to find out what happened to Anna after virtually being sucked into a black hole. And its a book that takes place in Ontario, which is where I live, which is fun to read. Who doesn't enjoy books that take place where they live?

So what are you waiting on this hump day?

Angela

** I love how for the longest time I referred to the author as Kendra Blake and not Kendare. Goes to show how close I pay attention when reading :P

In my mailbox (#11)

Hey everyone, I hope you all had a fabulous week! Boy, this week went by so fast for me. I got so much reading done and I've been able to update my blog more often than last month. Anyways, it's again Sunday and so I have for you a little IMM. This is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren as always.

This week was an extremely slow week for me. Don't expect anything exciting in my mailbox from now until the end of May. I'm still buying a few books this month and next month, but I really want to work hard on getting through the books I already own. I have so many books I've got to get through, it's just insane.

So this week I picked up one, but worthy of showing, book that I am currently reading:

The Calling by Kelley Armstrong
Kelley Armstrong is such an amazing author, and I am adoring this series so far. If you haven't picked up the first book, The Gathering, I strongly suggest you do so. You're missing out!

So what's in your mailbox guys? Let me know down below or leave a link to your post and I'll come check it out!

Review: Black Heart

Title: Black Heart
Author: Holly Black
Pages: 296
Format: Hardback
Publication Date: April 3rd 2012
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderrly

White Cat and Red Glove kept me on my toes and wanting more of the curse worker world. So of course the day the third and final installment of the series comes out, I'm at the book store, pronto.

Black Heart will not disappoint its readers!

This last book starts off where we left off in Red Glove. Cassel potentially working for the Feds, and of course, still helplessly falling head over heels for Lila. But now, everything is a complete mess, he doesn't know who to trust, and his love for Lila is driving him insane!

Cassel is one of those male protagonists you just can't get enough of. He's funny, witty, and acts like a BOY! Books in the perspective of males are so refreshing and neat because you never really know whats going down in those minds of boys. But Cassel, Cassel is an interesting fellow with an interesting gift. He can transform any object- or person-  with the touch of his flesh. I absolutely love these curse worker's concepts Black has created. It's so unique and interesting, especially all the tidbits of info you get about con artists and how to distinguish a liar. Yup, you learn all that in this series.

Beyond that though, even though the curse worker stuff is so original and fascinating, the characters truly make the story. Barron, Cassel's older brother, is completely awesome! He's so stupid and such a big goof. And Sam, Cassel's best friend, he's the bestest friend a guy could ask for. And did I mention he has a car that smells like french fries whenever he starts it up? Yeah, Sam is totally incredible! Lila on the other hand isn't a character you really get to learn about. She kind of stays in the shadows in this book, like the others, you just really don't see her a lot. I wish we did though because, well, she is Cassel's love interest! Now enough about the good guys, the bad guys in this book are the perfect mob-but-not-really-a-mob type characters. There no Mafia, but their definitely freaking awesome! Who knew bad guys could be so cool?

I think I've gushed enough about the characters, so I'll move on; get more technical. The whole world building of these series is seriously close to brilliance, if not standing right on top of it. Who would have that of a society where people wear gloves because you never know if you'll lose your memory or just drop dead? It's so fascinating, as I've said before, and just awing. It blows my mind away that someone, just a regular person, can have the imagination to think of such things.

Also, like the first two, there is a lot of surprises that peep up here and there. Especially that ending. I think you'll be happy to hear it was a satisfying and well constructed ending. Cassel's life could go on and on. The Feds and bad guys will probably always go after him, so Holly Black had to end it somewhere. Well, she ended the series at a perfect spot. Issues are resolved, and well, it was a happy ending. Who doesn't love those?

So over all, if you loved the first two, you'll love this one. There isn't really much to say because I think your feelings towards this book really determines whether or not you enjoyed the first two. Personally, I loved them. Great characters, great setting and concepts, makes for a great story.

My rating:
5 Cassel stars ;)

P.S. Cassel is totally dreamy!

Cover: I never really talk about covers, but I feel like I really should in this case. Ugh! Did they have to change the covers? Now they look miss-matched on my shelf. The other covers made sense, but this one doesn't quite make sense to me. Ah well, it is still pretty :)

Follow me Friday (#8)

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing fine on this sunny Friday. Well, it's sunny where I live. I'm so happy how well this month has been turning up for me. I've finally been able to get a lot of reading time in, which means more reviews on the blog! You can probably expect a review later today: wink, wink!

Anyways, another Friday brings another Follow me Friday. Again, this is a weekly meme hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee, so if you'd like, follow along! The more the merrier!

Today's question is:

Q: What is one book that you would be nervous to see a movie adaption of because you think the movie could never live up to the book?

A: (Skip over to the bold writing if you want to skip a lot of explanations)This is a tough one. I guess it really all depends on the book itself and the contents within that book. Some books are better fit for film adaptions, but other's just wouldn't make great movies.

If you checked out Alison Can Read's response, you'll know she commented that The Night Circus and The Fault in Our Stars wouldn't make good movies. I happen to agree with her on these ones (I`m not familiar with the other titles she listed). Lets take a look at The Night Circus. A beautiful story that absolutely blew my mind away, however, I don`t think the imagery and imaginary setting would look quite right on film. I think people would question a lot of it and would`t fully understand the emotions and feelings behind some of its concepts. And lets face it, people have their own ideals while reading books, like how people look, or how a setting looks. So then movies run into these issues that often lead to disappointment.

Now, if we look at The Fault in Our Stars, I`m sure if it were put to film, people would probably dismiss it as another "cancer story." But if you read the book, you know this is not the case. I think, and especially because I'm such a fan of the book, if people who have never read the book, started calling the story "another cancer story" it'd just overall tick me off.

In short, one book I would never want to see on film is actually from a series. The Mediator series by Meg Cabot. It is one of my absolute favorite all time book series, and if they started making films or shows on it, and it just turned out totally crap, I'd fear my most loved books wouldn't be my most loved anymore :(

That's all from me today folks. Sorry for such a long response. Feel free to completely dismiss it.

Leave a link to your blog if you're a new follower! I always follow back :)

Review: Slide

Title: Slide
Author: Jill Hathaway
Pages: 250
Format: Paperback/ ARC received from publisher
Publishing Date: March 27th 2012
Publisher: Harper Collins (Balzar + Bray)
** A copy was provided for review from the publisher. Thank you :)

The Savvy Reader Website

I was really excited when I received this book in the mail because, lets be honest, it was my first ARC! Anyways, I know this book is already out, and I wanted to have it read and reviewed a week before the release date, but there were some unexpected circumstances that made this impossible. Alas, I finally got around to reading it and spent all day today reading it. I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down!

Slide is one of those unique stories about the things you never imagine. Do you imagine ever slipping into someone else's body? Didn't think so. Have you ever thought about the possibility? Perhaps, but unlikely. I know I've never heard or even thought of such a possibility, personally. So for me, Slide was exceptionally different and new to me, so of course once I had the time to dive in, I couldn't tear my eyes away!

Jill Hathaway does an incredible job of making something you'd think would belong in a supernatural or paranormal type book, and add it to our everyday lives. The tone and genre of this book didn't scream supernatural or paranormal, despite Vee's (the main character) special gift of sliding into people when she sleeps. Her gift just fit with the story, which was a realistic world you and I might live in. So I was incredibly astonished by this, since usually, when a character has powers or some special gift, the book screams supernatural or paranormal or the like.

One genre I know for sure this book falls under is mystery. If you're a CSI or Criminal Minds kind of person, I think you'll really enjoy the mystery aspect of this book. I seriously could not guess the killer. Seriously. Sometimes in books the killer is SO easy to guess. This book had me guessing one person, to the next! It`s not till the end do you discover what is really going on. However, looking back on what I read before the ending, there were some hints Hathaway dropped, so keep your eyes open for anything suspicious. Wink, wink.

The book is told in the perspective of Vee, the girl who can slide into people. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed the story told by her. I personally think if it was a narrative type book, you wouldn`t understand the emotional toll Vee`s special gift had on her. So throughout the book, you`re put on a major emotional ride, right to the end. That, and I will admit, I cried a little at the end. The ending might make you cry, that`s all I`m saying. But the ending will also make you happy because it hints at a possible romance in the second book. Vee`s character was the perfect choice for telling the story of someone who can slide into people. She had the courage and strength to pull herself together during the few deaths throughout the book. I think many readers will be happy to read about a strong character, and not a damsel in distress, which becomes rather boring.

For me however, this book isn`t quite the five stars I was hoping to give it. Don`t get me wrong, it was an incredible read that will suck you in till the end. The only aspect that turned me off from it was all the alcohol and sex reference. I`m a senior high school student, I`ve heard about such topics all before, I know how teenagers can be, I`m a teenager myself, but I was still turned off a little by the amount of reference to it in the book. The only good thing about these aspects was that it didn`t really affect the main character, otherwise I would have completely hated the book. I guess the only real reason why it bugged me and turned me off the way it did was because I don`t agree with those things. Drinking and getting drunk isn`t ever on my agenda, and will never be. But if these sorts of things don`t bug you in real life, I`m sure this book will due you just fine. If you`re like me, and these sorts of things bug you in real life, then these sorts of things may bug you throughout the book.

All in all however, I really did enjoy this book and am looking forward to its sequel. The ending wasn`t quite a cliff hanger, but it did leave me wanting more of the story.

My rating;
4 "sliding" stars

Enjoy :)

In my mailbox (#10)

Hello everyone! Tomorrow is Easter! Yay! And so I've decided to upload my IMM a little early instead of a little late :) So you better enjoy.

As always this is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. I'm sure you all know who she is by now, so no need to link back to her.

Bought:

My lovely sister bought this one for me while we were at the book store, awaiting to see the Hunger Games. Yes, I finally saw it and can I just say, it was AMAZING! Seriously one of the best book to film adaptions ever!! Gah, I wanna see it again!

Black Heart by Holly Black

*Oh how I hate that they changed the covers. Now all three of my books don't match :(

Recieved for Review:

This one came to me as a big surprise, coming from Penguin Canada. Thank you for sending this to me! I haven't heard much about this one, but it sounds interesting and I can't wait to read it. It is released sometime this month :)

The Opposite of Tidy by Carrie Mac

Well that's all from me this week. I only plan on getting two other books this month, both sequel releases: The Calling and Social Suicide. So don't expect any "fabulous" IMM's this month (unless I receive any in the mail, which you never no).

What was in your mailbox this week? Let me know or leave me a link to your post so I can come check it out!

Enjoy!

Follow me Friday (#7)

This is a weekly feature hosted by Alison Can Read and Parajunkee so be sure to check them out and follow along!

So Follow me Friday is just a weekly feature that allows bloggers to discover other fellow bloggers, follow them, and gain bloggers in return. It's fun, awesome, and a Win-Win!

I haven't done a Follow me Friday in so long, but today I thought since it's Good Friday, I have school off and EVERY SINGLE STORE is closed, this post would give me something to do AND I think it'll get me back into the swing of things.

Q. Have you ever bought a book because of a bad review?

A. Yes! I never pay attention to bad reviews. I read them because some of them are just hilarious and do make good points, but I still give a book a chance. I feel that every book I see, and that looks good, deserves at least one chance. I'm not a picky reader, I read just about anything, and can like just about anything, so in my entire reading life, I've only ever not finished 2 books. That's it, 2 books. I love books so much, in general, that I never hate them. I`m open minded like that :)

Attention all new blog followers: Let me know if you`re a new follower so I can follow back! I may not comment, although I try, but you can be sure I`ll follow back IF you leave your link. Thank you.

Review: Divergent

Finally, seriously, I thought I'd never have the opportunity to write a book review. However, here I am! I realise I've been neglecting my blog, and I truly hate that, but you have to understand school right now is my top priority. I have to keep my grades up in order to keep my admissions to the universities I've applied to. But I've had some spare time and so I was finally able to get through Divergent, so please do enjoy this long awaited review. I do posts when ever I can. I'm not the type of blogger that writes "filler" posts, if you know what I mean. If I have something to share with you guys, I share it. If I have a WOW then I write a WOW post. If I don't, I don't. But thank you for those who have stuck around and await patiently for my any future posts! April will be a much better month. I promise :)

Where do I even begin? There has been so much praise about this book, I fear this review will probably mean dejavu for many of you that have read other reviews on it. Nonetheless, I feel I have to get my thoughts and feelings across, so let us begin.

This book was amazing. Such an incredibly vague and over used word, but it seriously was. From page 1 up to page 487, Miss. Roth had my full attention. There was always something going on, whether it be big or small, it made it virtually impossible to ever want to put this book down. I must admit, the timing was not right for the reading of this book as all during March I was considerably busy.

Word of advise? Make sure you read this book when you have the time! It will save you a lot of book torture. This is one big book, chalk-full of events that will make you want to read until the very end, so it would be wise to consider your time.

Aside from that, the characters I promise you, will not disappoint. Divergent is the perfect example of book with well crafted characters. Our main character, Tris, was probably the best character I've ever read about. You see her grow as a human being throughout the book, and you see her weaknesses and strengths and how they effect her. You see her become the person she ought to be, not the person society wants her to be. You see that in today's society, of people being what society tells them to be. Props to Tris for going against this. I must say actually, props to all the people in this dystopian world that did what they thought was best. I think it's what makes the characters so likable. And Four, you ask, yeah he was pretty darn amazing and will be the male protagonist you'll fall head over heels for. He won't disappoint either.

Overall, the story line was well laid out with no plot holes, and it was actually interesting. I can't say there was ever a time I was bored while reading this. There is so much described and created in this dystopian world, that the writing was there, but you don't see it. All you see is this world Roth has imagined and created using her imagination. It was quite incredible. This book will never bore you!

One last thing I just have to note: That ending was incredible! It was the best, most satisfying ending ever! Its not really a major cliff hanger, it was actually a good conclusion. Really, a lot of authors suck at conclusions. Don't deny it. But Veronica Roth created the most amazing ending that didn't leave me tormented, or not wanting me to read the next book, but it left me satisfied, still making me want the sequel, but deal- able. I can actually live my life without the ending replaying in my mind. So thank you Roth for such a great ending.

Ultimately, this is the best book I have ever read. All year, and every year. It has made its mark in spot number one. I will be feverishly awaiting the sequel, Insurgent!

Questions: What Faction do you think you'd choose?
My Answer: Probably Abnegation, because I'm the type of person that always thinks of the other. Always.
How about you?
